HBO's gritty drama centered on men's lives in prison is an irresistibly captivating, testosterone-fueled soap opera targeted at a male audience. The initial eight episodes lay the groundwork for the series: a sprawling ensemble of vibrant characters from both sides of the prison bars, four or five plots unfolding at a rapid pace, punctuated by quirky, intense introductions, and a high rate of fatalities. Developed by Homicide producer Tom Fontana, this series rapidly garnered a reputation as the most savage show on television. The formula is straightforward: mix volatile elements in a confined environment, seal it tightly, and agitate.
The path leading into Oswald Correctional Facility (affectionately dubbed "Oz" by its inhabitants) culminates in "Emerald City," a sterile cellblock crafted from concrete and glass, managed by prison reformer Tim McManus (Terry Kinney). The debut episode showcases its two most intriguing prisoners: the mild-mannered lawyer Beecher (Lee Terguson), who evolves from a defenseless lamb into a bold, drug-fueled wildcat, and the Muslim activist Kareem Said (Eamonn Walker), an uncompromisingly peaceful leader whose quest for reform culminates in a season-defining riot. The remarkable first-season cast also includes Ernie Hudson as the warden, Rita Moreno portraying a worldly nun who offers drug counseling, and Edie Falco, who transitioned from her role as a single mother working as a prison guard to her character as a mob wife in The Sopranos. The show carries no official rating, but its depiction of drug use, nudity, and extreme violence renders it inappropriate for younger audiences and unsuitable for those with delicate sensibilities. Oz does not hold back in its depiction of prison brutality and predatory behavior.

XP, Vista...) will have to be researched by the buyer. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.
Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions.
