The story behind Get Medieval goes a little something like this: there's this town called Dirindale and this dragon named "the Great Dragon" (he no doubt has some "issues" he'll have to see the dragon psychologist about) comes and does really bad stuff to it. Like breathing fire onto perfectly good houses and burning them (that tends to happen when dragons breath fire onto houses). Now this is bad stuff, 'cause home is where the heart is and absence makes the heart go yonder… or something like that. Anyway, the word gets out that this stuff is happening, and "four brave adventurers have arrived to seek fame, treasure, and power." And all four of them are pretty screwed up.
There's Eryc, an egotistical, fleet-footed elf. He's of course an archer (like most elves, I guess) and is out to prove to the world he's the greatest archer alive (not that Robin Hood guy). Next, is Kellina the Avenger (think Xena). She's a warrior princess and author of Men and the Women Who Conquer Them, which pretty much sums up her personality. Her father was the King of Dirindale, and she's out to avenge her father's murder and rule his kingdom. Then there's Zared the Barbarian. He's got the combined intelligence of a horse and a rock, but he's pretty damn powerful. His alibi for being in the game is that he ran away from an encounter with the "the Great Dragon" and is out to prove he's no girly man. And finally, there's Levina the Sorceress. She's described as being "sensual and seductive. Her evil sorcery is second only to her enchanting erotic nature." In other words, she's a flirt \ slut. They don't really explain why she's in the game (I'm sure there's something besides her orgasmic pain sounds), only that she "aspires to bring her cult of erotically mystical women to power and dominate the realm with her sorcery." I guess she wants to start a brothel or something. Whatever.
Get Medieval is a 2D (with rendered 3D graphics) medieval-themed overhead shoot 'em up. It's pretty much a Gauntlet clone. If you know Gauntlet, you know Get Medieval. GM updates the concept a bit and adds a lot of humor. All the characters have different strengths and weaknesses (nothing new), as well as a vast assortment of one-liners, comments, and remarks that accentuate their personality.
Get Medieval has forty levels, but there's a random dungeon generator and support for user created maps. There's four-player cooperative support via multiple controllers (keyboard & joysticks), local network, modem and the Internet (TCP/IP), as well as 16-bit graphics, a lot of little extras, and a ton of action.

We would be happy to help get the game going on your computer, but ultimately compatibility issues are the responsibility of the buyer. We suggest going to Google and searching for the name of the game along with the words "system requirements" to determine if your system is suitable. Ultimately, we are not responsible for software compatibility problems or publisher's errors.
PLATFORM:
Stated within the auction is what platform the game will work on (ie. Windows, Mac, Linux...) This is a generic statement and specific platform versions (ie. XP, Vista...) will have to be researched by the buyer. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.
Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions.

Please verify you have the required hardware in order to use the specified media (ie. CD, DVD, floppy drives, etc.) If the item comes as a floppy disc, make sure you have either the needed 3.5" floppy drive or the bigger and older 5.25" floppy drive.
