DRAGON BALL: SEASON ONE 5-DISC SET
In 1986, the animated version of Akira Toriyama's manga Dragon Ball premiered on Japanese television, marking the beginning of one of the most celebrated franchises in the history of anime. Dragon Ball presented a unique blend of friendship between men, intense training, martial arts battles, humorous antics, and science fiction action, which resonated strongly with young audiences and paved the way for successors like Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, along with countless imitators.
The story centers on a young boy named Goku from another planet, who possesses superhuman capabilities but was brought up in the isolated mountains by an elderly man, leaving him largely ignorant of the outside world. Goku soon encounters Bulma, a girl on a quest to gather the seven magical Dragon Balls in hopes of wishing for a boyfriend. This innocent boy and the fiery-tempered girl team up, joining forces with Oolong, a pig capable of shape-shifting, and Yamcha, a charming bandit accompanied by his shapeshifting partner, Puar. Together, they compete against the diminutive Emperor Pilaf, who harbors ambitions of world domination, to collect the Dragon Balls.
After defeating Pilaf, Goku embarks on a journey to master martial arts under the guidance of Master Roshi, a skilled yet lecherous elderly man. Alongside his fellow student Krillin, Goku acquires impressive powers which they utilize during the World Martial Arts Tournament. These initial episodes establish the format for Dragon Ball and many other series: various humans and creatures engage in relentless training before gathering to engage in intense battles, all for an audience's enjoyment. As is typical, the hero emerges victorious in a grand final showdown.
The early adventures have a lighter feel and are more comically exaggerated compared to the onset of the more serious Red Ribbon Saga. For many years, the first 13 episodes of Dragon Ball could only be accessed in the U.S. through a heavily censored compilation titled Saga of Goku, disappointing many fans. After successfully releasing the complete collections of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT, Funimation is now offering Dragon Ball in its uncut and digitally restored format. The series is likely to look better today than it did at its debut, as it was originally filmed in 16mm.

Stated within the auction is what platform the game will work on (ie. Windows, Mac, Linux...) This is a generic statement and specific platform versions (ie. XP, Vista...) will have to be researched by the buyer. Games that came out PRIOR to XP or higher will not specifically state they will work on that release, but only because they came out before those versions were made. Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.
Macintosh Systems:
For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version. Please research Google on how to do this, or send us a message for information prior to purchasing. If your MAC OS system doesn't support Classic Environment (ie. MAC OS X 10.5 or Higher OR Intel Macs), you will have to try running it using the free program called SheepShaver, but compatibility is not ensured. Please research prior to purchasing or ask questions.

Please verify you have the required hardware in order to use the specified media (ie. CD, DVD, floppy drives, etc.) If the item comes as a floppy disc, make sure you have either the needed 3.5" floppy drive or the bigger and older 5.25" floppy drive.
