CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY DELUXE 2-DISC SET W/ TRADING CARDS
Willy Wonka, the quirky proprietor of a confectionery factory, chooses to welcome five fortunate children who earned a chance to visit his factory by discovering golden tickets hidden in his candy bars. Throughout the tour, each child gives in to their personal weaknesses, with the exception of Charlie Bucket, a naive boy who has lived in poverty under the looming presence of Willy Wonka's immense factory.
Tim Burton's brilliantly imaginative version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is likely to earn the approval of Roald Dahl. The well-known writer of uniquely dark children’s literature was fiercely critical of the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (which is why the title was altered), so it feels appropriate for Burton, along with his frequent collaborator Johnny Depp, to take another run at the story, adding their distinct flair of whimsical oddity. Depp portrays a pale, androgynous Wonka, which led some to draw parallels to the famously controversial perpetual child, Michael Jackson. However, Burton’s film is too grand and imaginative to be pigeonholed. While it retains Dahl's cautionary tale regarding the pitfalls of overindulgence, Burton's vivid explosion of color creates a spectacular backdrop for the lessons learned by Charlie Bucket (played by Freddie Highmore, Depp's charming co-star from Finding Neverland), as he along with other less virtuous children embark on a once-in-a-lifetime excursion through Wonka's candy-filled paradise.
Advanced visual effects make this film a feast for the eyes (including digitally multiplied Oompa-Loompas, all portrayed by the diminutive actor Deep Roy), and Depp's unusually daring yet ultimately off-putting portrayal amplifies the film's inherent strangeness. Nevertheless, none of this detracts from the fact that Burton's Charlie is set to be the must-have family DVD for the 2005 holiday season, perhaps even appealing to those who are staunch advocates of Gene Wilder's interpretation of Wonka from 34 years prior.

Many, if not most, will work on XP or higher with a few quick adjustments. We provide instructions with all items purchased on how to do this adjustment using the Program Compatibility Wizard. If we find out that an item will definately not work on a specific version, we will state it. For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program if the Program Compatibility Wizard does not work.
64-Bit Windows OS Systems:
For 64-bit Operating Systems, older games most likely will NOT work due to 64-bit systems not being able to run 16-bit programming code (most games prior to 2000). For DOS games, you may need to play it with a free DOSbox program.

For Macintosh programs, most older games will need to be run in Classic Environment if you have a MAC OS X 10.0 - 10.4 version.
